NU Dance @ GVMCC
At NU Dance @ GVMCC, we strive to cultivate a learning environment rooted in focus, respect, artistry, discipline, curiosity, and care for the whole dancer. We ask all students and families to carefully review the following policies prior to participation in classes, programs, workshops, camps, rehearsals, and performances.
Program Orientation & Communication
Some programs may include an orientation, parent meeting, or welcome communication prior to the start of participation. Families are encouraged to review all program information carefully, including schedules, studio locations, arrival and pick-up procedures, and any program-specific expectations.
Attendance & Punctuality
Students are encouraged to attend all scheduled classes, rehearsals, and program activities and arrive on time, prepared, and ready to begin. Consistent attendance supports both individual growth and the collaborative nature of dance training.
If a student will be absent or late, please notify the program as soon as possible.
Arrival & Pick-Up
Students should be dropped off and picked up promptly at the scheduled start and end times of their classes or program activities. Dancers are expected to remain within approved program areas during breaks and between classes unless otherwise authorized.
Dress Code
Students are expected to follow the dress code established for their class or program and arrive prepared with all required dancewear, shoes, and supplies. Hair should be secured neatly away from the face for all movement classes.
Please review any program-specific Dress Code and What to Bring information prior to participation.
Food, Hydration & Wellness
Students should bring a clearly labeled water bottle and any snacks or meals needed for the duration of their participation. We encourage dancers to support their physical well-being through hydration, nourishment, rest, and attentive care for their bodies.
Please notify the program of any allergies, injuries, medical conditions, or other concerns that may impact participation. If this information has already been provided through registration materials, no additional notification is necessary unless circumstances change.
Studio Conduct
We strive to create a learning environment that is focused, respectful, welcoming, and supportive for all members of our community. Students are expected to conduct themselves in ways that contribute positively to this shared environment.
The following are not permitted:
- Smoking, vaping, alcohol, or drug use
- Disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate behavior
- Gum chewing during classes
- Behavior that interferes with the safety, well-being, or learning of others
NU Dance @ GVMCC reserves the right to dismiss a student from a class, program, rehearsal, workshop, camp, or event if conduct significantly disrupts the learning environment or compromises safety.
Parent & Family Communication
We value open, respectful, and collaborative communication with students and families. Questions, concerns, and feedback are always welcome and help us continue building a strong and supportive community.
If concerns arise, we encourage families to communicate directly with program administration so that issues can be addressed thoughtfully, respectfully, and in a timely manner.
We ask all members of our community to engage with one another in a spirit of kindness, professionalism, curiosity, and mutual respect.
Personal Belongings
Please label all personal belongings clearly. While we will do our best to help locate misplaced items, NU Dance @ GVMCC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings.
Tuition & Refund Policy
Tuition and registration fees help secure faculty, studio space, and program operations in advance and are therefore generally non-refundable.
Requests for refunds due to injury, illness, or extenuating circumstances may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of program administration.
Photography & Media
By participating in classes, programs, workshops, camps, rehearsals, performances, or other activities offered by NU Dance @ GVMCC, students and families grant permission for photographs and video recordings to be used for educational, archival, and promotional purposes unless written notice is provided prior to participation.
